As you may be aware, there have been protests in Bangkok and elsewhere concerning the current government. Some foreign governments have issued warnings, telling people to not undertake any non-essential travel to Thailand. However, we believe the current situation does not warrant such warnings. In particular, most of the problems have been occurring in one (mainly Government House), and a few other areas. While protesters still occupy Government House, there have been no significant incidents recently.
At this time we would like to advise out conference participants that it will still be safe to travel to Thailand as scheduled for the conference. The conference venue is far from any problem area, though we do advise participants not to go to any problem area such as Government House. Hopefully, by the conference date, the situation will have improved.
We will advise everyone if the situation here worsens significantly. If we feel that the conference will threaten your safety, then it will be cancelled and your registration fee refunded.
